Choose Your Project

Start with the poolside problem you need to solve.

BajaMate is a modular system, but the correct starting point depends on the sleeve already in the pool or the foundation being planned. Identify and measure the sleeve first. If a compatible builder-installed plastic sleeve is still structurally usable, an Anchor can fit into it and upsize the mounting point above the surface. Choose a Foundation sleeve for new construction or when the original sleeve should be replaced. From there, add Gather table space, oversized shade, or a coordinated Oasis system.

Existing Pool Sleeve

Identify the sleeve before choosing the hardware.

Learn how to identify a builder-installed plastic pool umbrella sleeve, measure its usable inside diameter and depth, inspect its condition, and decide whether to keep and adapt it or replace it with a metal Foundation sleeve.

New Pool or Replacement

Begin with a metal Foundation sleeve.

Choose a BajaMate Foundation sleeve for new pool construction, Baja shelves, decks, patios, hardscapes, or replacement applications where a durable metal mounting point is preferred.

Fast Selection Help

Which BajaMate product or guide should you use?

Quick Answer

Start by identifying the mounting point. Keep and adapt a compatible existing sleeve when it remains usable. For a dry-side pool deck or patio, use an aluminum Anchor when a compatible sleeve already exists, or add an aluminum Foundation sleeve + aluminum Anchor when creating a new permanent mounting point. Use 316 stainless hardware for permanent submerged installations. Then choose the umbrella and optional Gather components around the actual site.

Common Questions

BajaMate guide and product-selection questions.

These answers identify the best starting guide for the most common sleeve, adapter, table, umbrella, material, and installation questions.

Which guide should I read first?

Start with the Pool Umbrella Sleeve Guide when you need to identify or measure the mounting point. If you are shopping for an umbrella, use the Sun Shelf & Baja Shelf Pool Umbrella Buying Guide . Use the Pool Umbrella Adapter Guide for Anchor height, material, and pole compatibility, and the Floating Pool Umbrella Tables Guide when comparing portable floating systems with an anchored setup.

Does the Anchor adapter replace my existing plastic sleeve?

No. The Anchor adapter is designed to fit into a compatible existing builder-installed pool sleeve. It then creates a larger, taller, and more stable mounting point above the finished pool or deck surface.

How do I know whether to adapt or replace my existing pool umbrella sleeve?

A structurally usable, compatible builder-installed plastic sleeve can often remain in place and accept a BajaMate Anchor. Replacement should be considered when the sleeve is cracked, crushed, loose, severely misaligned, deteriorated, or already being opened during a remodel. See the Pool Umbrella Sleeve Guide for the full inspection and measurement process.

When do I need a Foundation sleeve?

Choose a Foundation sleeve for new pool construction, a new deck or patio mounting point, or an installation where a damaged or unsuitable existing sleeve must be replaced.

Should I choose the 18-inch or 26-inch Anchor?

The 18-inch Anchor is generally best for a shallower, single-step-down Baja shelf. The 26-inch Anchor is generally best for a deeper, two-step-down shelf where additional mounting height is needed.

Should I choose aluminum or 316 stainless steel?

Choose 316 stainless steel for permanent submerged in-pool use. For a pool deck, patio, hardscape, landscape, or other dry-side installation, BajaMate's aluminum system is the primary path: use an aluminum Anchor when a compatible sleeve already exists, or install an aluminum Foundation sleeve + aluminum Anchor when adding a new permanent mounting point.

Which umbrella poles are compatible?

Compatible BajaMate Anchor configurations support straight round umbrella poles up to 2.00 inches outside diameter maximum. Pole length, canopy size, weight, operating clearance, and wind exposure must also be appropriate.

Is Solar + USB-C Charging available?

Select BajaMate umbrellas are available with an optional Solar + USB-C Charging upgrade. Charging performance depends on sunlight, battery state, device requirements, and environmental conditions.

Should I buy a floating pool umbrella table?

A floating umbrella table can make sense when temporary portability is the main goal and you do not want a fixed mounting point. For a long-term Baja shelf or poolside setup, BajaMate recommends starting with the pool architecture: use a compatible existing sleeve and Anchor, or install a Foundation sleeve when adding a permanent mounting point. See the Floating Pool Umbrella Tables Guide for the full comparison.

What should I send BajaMate for compatibility help?

Send the sleeve opening, usable sleeve depth, water depth, umbrella-pole diameter, desired umbrella size, desired table height, and clear photos of the sleeve, waterline, Baja shelf, and surrounding installation.

Not Sure What to Buy?

Start with the Pool Umbrella Buying Guide.

Compare sleeve-mounted, weighted, and floating options; 7½′ through 14′ canopy sizes; dry-side aluminum mounting; permanent 316 stainless hardware; and the pole-fit rules that matter before you order.
